In response to concerns regarding the brake control module software, Volvo Cars has announced a recall of 5,663 vehicles, encompassing both locally produced and imported models. The affected lineup includes the plug-in hybrid XC60, S90, and S60, as well as the pure electric C40 and XC40, among others. This recall is necessary as these vehicles may experience a loss of braking function under certain driving conditions, posing a significant safety risk. To address this issue, Volvo will arrange for authorized dealers to perform a free software upgrade on the brake control module, thereby eliminating the potential safety hazard.
