By May 2025, China's new energy vehicle exports had surged to 296,000 units, marking a robust 43% year-on-year increase. This accounted for 43% of total automobile exports, a notable 7 percentage point increase from May 2024. From January to May 2025, cumulative exports of new energy vehicles reached 1.16 million units, representing a 33% year-on-year growth, outpacing the 29% growth rate recorded in the same period of 2024. These exports accounted for 41% of total automobile exports, a 5 percentage point increase year-on-year.
