Ford Motor Company has temporarily suspended sales of its Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle due to a critical software defect. This flaw has the potential to lock the vehicle's doors upon shutdown, posing a significant safety risk by potentially trapping passengers inside, especially concerning for children and pets. The recall affects vehicles from the 2021 to 2025 model years, encompassing approximately 317,000 units worldwide. Ford is in the process of developing a software update to rectify this issue and intends to resume vehicle deliveries once the fix is implemented.
