Tesla's cutting-edge FSD chip, dubbed "AI5/HW5," has commenced mass production, leveraging TSMC and Samsung as its manufacturing partners. This groundbreaking chip boasts an impressive computing performance ranging from 2000 to 2500 TOPS, marking a fivefold enhancement over the current HW4 chip. This significant leap in power allows the AI5/HW5 to effortlessly support more intricate unsupervised FSD algorithms. TSMC has adopted a state-of-the-art 3nm process for mass production, while Samsung serves as a secondary manufacturing facility, poised to commence production in 2026.
