Carbon fiber, renowned for its exceptional strength and lightweight characteristics, is ubiquitous in high-performance sports cars and electric vehicles, with some models boasting full carbon fiber bodies. Nonetheless, the material's high cost and potential for environmental pollution during disposal pose significant challenges. Earlier this year, the European Parliament proposed amendments to the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive, aiming to classify carbon fiber as a 'hazardous substance' and contemplating a ban on its use in automobile manufacturing from 2029 onwards. However, this proposed ban was later rescinded.
