At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2025 exhibition on June 18, Xu Zhijun, Huawei's rotating chairman, delved into the advancements of 5G technology and intelligent connected vehicles. He highlighted the challenges that the current 5G connected vehicle network encounters, including intellectual property disputes and inconsistencies in user experience. Xu Zhijun stressed that autonomous vehicles must possess the capability to perceive and make decisions autonomously, minimizing reliance on network connectivity. Furthermore, he proposed a dual-track approach for cabin and vehicle network connections: the cabin should adopt a B2C model, integrating with the smartphone ecosystem to allow consumers freedom in selecting connections and data plans, while the vehicle's T-BOX connection should follow a B2B model, where the automaker dictates the connectivity solution.
