On Tuesday, Volvo Cars and Daimler Truck unveiled their strategic partnership aimed at minimizing expenses and lessening reliance on external suppliers through the collaborative development of software-centric vehicle initiatives. Despite being fierce competitors in the European truck manufacturing landscape, both entities have chosen to unite in the face of the pressing need to produce highly technological vehicles while trimming costs. Presently, truck manufacturers are heavily reliant on suppliers, with software and hardware components deeply interwoven. The newly formed joint venture, named "Coretura", will concentrate on developing a software-defined vehicle platform with the objective of transforming this existing paradigm.
