GAC Toyota has pledged to advance both gasoline and electric vehicle technologies, officially initiating the 'Great Hybrid Era.' The company will consolidate three major hybrid pathways, with Chinese engineers spearheading the development of extended-range powertrains for the all-new Highlander and Sienna models. Furthermore, GAC Toyota has established a Chief Chinese Engineer system and strengthened its collaborations with Chinese enterprises like Huawei, Xiaomi, and Momenta, with the goal of establishing a pioneering AI ecosystem. Additionally, the company has unveiled plans for a dedicated new energy platform, where smaller vehicles will emphasize pure electric power, while larger vehicles will focus on hybrid power.
