Suzuki Motors has temporarily halted the production of its iconic Swift model (excluding the sport version) in Japan, from May 26 to June 6, citing a shortage of essential components. Media reports attribute this suspension to China's restrictions on rare earth exports, marking Suzuki as the first Japanese automaker to face such an impact. This disruption in the supply chain has resulted in a scarcity of key parts, hampering the assembly process of the vehicles. Consequently, Suzuki's share price closed down by 3% in the Japanese market.
