On June 4, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed to reporters that five key departments—including MIIT, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and the National Energy Administration—are set to initiate the 2025 New Energy Vehicle Go-to-the-Countryside campaign in mid-June, with Jiangsu as the launch pad. This campaign will primarily target county-level cities that, despite their low penetration of new energy vehicles, possess significant market potential. Over the past five years, numerous provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, including Shandong and Jiangsu, have successfully hosted 29 special events and numerous parade exhibitions, introducing nine batches comprising over 400 new energy vehicle models tailored for rural areas. As a result, cumulative sales of these vehicles in rural regions are nearing the milestone of 15 million units.
