Industry insiders predict that the anticipated "retirement wave" of power batteries in the next 4-5 years will ease the pressure of supply-demand mismatch, yet the sector's growth necessitates clear guidance. Currently, China is in the process of revising the "Interim Measures for the Administration of the Recycling and Utilization of Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles," with plans to elevate these measures to departmental regulations. This upgrade aims to formalize the recycling of retired batteries through stringent source control. The objective is to delineate the responsibilities of various administrative bodies and law enforcement agencies, fostering standardized industry development, resolving management ambiguities, and encouraging healthy competition. It is anticipated that the pertinent documents will be promulgated within this year.
