On the evening of May 22, Xiaomi unveiled its latest creation, the YU7, at its 15th-anniversary strategic new product launch event. Contrary to popular assumption, the YU7 is not an upgraded version of the SU7 but rather a freshly conceived mid-to-large-sized luxury high-performance SUV, built upon the SU7's foundation. Despite its sleek and compact exterior, the YU7 boasts an impressively spacious interior. It is offered in three distinct versions: single-motor rear-wheel drive, dual-motor four-wheel drive, and a high-performance four-wheel drive option, with a maximum driving range of 835 kilometers, powered by a robust 96.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The vehicle's door handles incorporate an innovative electric inward-flipping hidden design, and customers can choose from a total of nine color options. At the launch event, four colors were introduced: gem green, lava orange, titanium metal, and Cambrian rock gray, with the remaining colors to be unveiled at a later date. Lei Jun, via Weibo, shared that the pricing details and pre-order information for the YU7 would not be revealed at this event, and that the vehicle is anticipated to hit the market in July.
