During the first quarter of 2025, global sales of new energy vehicles witnessed a remarkable surge, reaching 4 million units, representing a significant year-on-year growth of 39%. Among these, sales of pure electric vehicles accounted for 2.67 million units, reflecting an even steeper increase of 45%. BYD emerged as the market leader with a commanding share of 15.4%, followed closely by Tesla and Geely Auto, which held market shares of 12.6% and 6.9%, respectively. Notably, XPeng and Xiaomi also secured spots among the top ten.

In the realm of plug-in hybrid vehicles, BYD maintained its dominant position with a substantial market share of 38.7%, securing the top spot. Li Auto placed second, while Geely Auto made its debut in the top three rankings. Projections indicate that global sales of new energy vehicles are anticipated to reach 19.47 million units by the end of 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of 19.6%.
