SAIC Motor is streamlining its parts and components system into two main divisions: the "upper body" and the "lower body." The focal point of the "upper body" division is Yanfeng, which encompasses the vehicle body, interior and exterior trim, and smart cockpit technologies. The "lower body" division, on the other hand, comprises a new chassis company currently in development, amalgamated by Shanghai Huizhong, Luanchuang Automotive Electronics, and other enterprises. While the exact form of this integration is still being finalized, its primary objective is to foster closer collaboration between the entire vehicle manufacturing process and its component parts. Prior to this initiative, SAIC had already completed the integration of its vehicle sector, resulting in the formation of a large passenger vehicle business and a large commercial vehicle business.
