On a sweltering afternoon in Beijing on May 19, with temperatures soaring above 30℃, inside Xiaomi's car factory located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, a sight to behold unfolded—hundreds of Xiaomi SU7 vehicles were meticulously lined up. In a significant move back in March 2021, Lei Jun, the visionary founder of Xiaomi Group, officially announced the company's foray into the automotive industry. The initial phase of this state-of-the-art factory spans approximately 720,000 square meters and commenced production in 2023. Looking ahead, the second phase is poised to kick off in 2024, with a projected completion date set for mid-2025.
