On April 30, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released figures indicating that between April 1 and 27, retail sales of passenger cars in the national market totaled 1.391 million units. This represents a 10% increase compared to the same period last year and a 10% decrease from the previous month. Since the start of the year, cumulative retail sales have reached 6.518 million units, a 7% year-on-year growth. Additionally, during this same period, retail sales of new energy passenger cars in the national market hit 728,000 units, a 24% year-on-year increase and a 10% month-on-month decline. The retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the market stood at 52.3%. Since the beginning of the year, cumulative retail sales in the new energy market have amounted to 3.148 million units, a 33% year-on-year surge.
