On April 27, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) announced that it had successfully obtained two test reports for compliance with GB 38031-2025, titled "Safety Requirements for Traction Batteries for Electric Vehicles." This achievement marks CATL as the first domestic enterprise to meet the stringent criteria set by the new national standard. The tested products encompassed both individual battery cells and battery packs, with the Qilin battery specifically singled out for testing. The newly introduced mandatory national standard for power battery safety was officially published on March 28, 2026, and will come into effect on July 1, 2026.
