On April 28, BYD ceremoniously laid the foundation for its passenger vehicle factory in Cambodia's Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, marking the establishment of the country's first new energy vehicle production base. The factory, spanning an area of 12 hectares, boasts a total investment of US$32 million and is anticipated to commence operations in the fourth quarter of this year, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD's Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, emphasized that the factory will prioritize the production of new energy vehicles, aiming to contribute to Cambodia's transition towards a green and low-carbon economy.
