The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) announced on Tuesday that Thailand's auto production fell for the 20th consecutive month in March. However, the rate of decline narrowed, thanks to improved domestic sales, even as the drop in auto exports widened. According to the data, Thailand's auto production declined by 6.09% year-on-year in March, reaching 129,909 units. This marks an improvement from the 13.62% year-on-year decline recorded in February. Commercial vehicle production suffered due to economic weakness and tightened auto loans, with truck production plummeting by 70%.
