Traton, the truck division of Germany's Volkswagen Group, announced on Monday that its revenue for the first quarter of this year totaled €10.33 billion (approximately $11.75 billion), marking a 10% year-on-year decrease and falling short of market expectations. This decline was primarily attributed to adverse economic and political conditions, particularly in North America. Furthermore, Traton's sales fell below analysts' estimates in a Vara Research survey, with actual sales of €10.33 billion compared to the expected €10.55 billion. The German truck manufacturer also confirmed preliminary data indicating that its adjusted operating profit for the first quarter was €646 million, a significant 58% decrease from the same period last year.
