On the evening of April 27, the 'Shenzhen', the world's largest pure car carrier by capacity, departed from the Taicang Port Area of Suzhou Port, loaded with over 7,000 new energy vehicles destined for Brazil. This voyage marked a new milestone in domestic auto exports, setting a record for a single shipment. As the largest roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) auto terminal along the Yangtze River, Taicang Port Area has exported a total of 212,000 domestically produced cars since its opening in December 2024. According to data from Taicang Customs, in the first quarter of this year, the port area exported 147,600 vehicles, representing an 18.35% increase year-on-year. Notably, 58,500 of these vehicles were exported to countries participating in the 'Belt and Road' initiative, marking a 3.06% year-on-year growth.
