On April 27, Li Lecheng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), convened a meeting in Beijing with Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). The purpose of the meeting was to explore avenues for deepening cooperation between China and Germany within the automotive sector. Li Lecheng highlighted that as comprehensive strategic partners, China and Germany have already embarked on a diverse array of collaborative ventures in fields encompassing new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles. He expressed optimism that both parties would continue to harness their respective strengths, explore potential avenues for cooperation, and jointly propel the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of the automotive industry. Additionally, he affirmed that China would furnish a high-quality business environment conducive to foreign-invested enterprises.

In response, Hildegard Müller conveyed that the VDA advocates for free trade and fair competition, places significant emphasis on international cooperation, and anticipates deepening ties with China to foster the synchronized development and technological innovation of both countries' automotive industries, thereby achieving continuous and newfound successes.
