Nissan Motors intends to shut down its facility in Wuhan by the conclusion of March 2026. This plant, capable of manufacturing 300,000 vehicles annually, has witnessed a significant decline in its operational rate to under 10%, attributable to the intensifying competition within the Chinese automotive market. Since 2022, Nissan has leased the plant to Dongfeng Motor Corporation for the production of the Ariya electric vehicle and the X-Trail SUV.
