The Chinese imported car market continues to contract, with sales sliding from 1.24 million units in 2017 to 800,000 units in 2023, and further to 705,000 units in 2024, marking an 11.7% year-over-year decrease. Stepping into 2025, sales of imported cars during the first quarter totaled a mere 95,000 units, reflecting a steep year-on-year decline of 39%. Despite a slight narrowing of the decline to 27% in March, the market's downward trend remains pronounced.
