During the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Porsche unveiled the official launch of its China R&D Center, poised to commence operations in the latter half of the year. Nestled in Jiading District, at the epicenter of Shanghai's Hongqiao Transportation Hub, the Center boasts a sprawling area of over 10,000 square meters and amalgamates three pivotal entities: Porsche Engineering China, Porsche Digital China, and Porsche China R&D Branch. Uniquely, it also encompasses local procurement and quality assurance functions, cultivating a comprehensive R&D ecosystem. The Center will primarily concentrate on developing "hardware-software integrated" infotainment systems and driver assistance solutions tailored specifically for the Chinese market, with the inaugural infotainment system customized for China set to be embedded in Porsche models by 2026. The initial phase of the project is designed to accommodate over 300 engineers and includes a Beijing branch to bolster localized R&D strategies.
