Waymo's interest in the personal market dates back to 2018, when it collaborated with Chrysler to explore this segment. Meanwhile, Tesla is also actively pursuing the personal autonomous driving sphere, with Elon Musk aiming to introduce a $30,000 Cybercab by 2026 and planning to launch a driverless taxi service in Austin this summer. Despite Tesla's ambitions, Waymo has already accomplished remarkable feats in operating driverless taxis and is now extending its testing endeavors to Japan.
