On April 25th, Tesla's Indian office initiated the refund of reservation fees to early Model 3 pre-order holders via email, igniting market speculation regarding a potential new car model launch in the country. The email communicated that Tesla intends to temporarily refund these fees and will reconnect with the market once its sales strategy for India has been finalized. Tesla expressed its hope to welcome back these customers when it is prepared to introduce and deliver new vehicles in India. The email, which originated from Tesla's official domain and was signed as "Tesla India," further indicated that Tesla had also informed Model 3 reservation holders of the refund via phone calls. These reservations date back to 2016, with the refunds attributed to the discontinuation of the previous Model 3 variant.
