Ten departments, led by the Ministry of Transport, have jointly issued comprehensive guidance aimed at fostering the integrated development of transportation and energy. The guidance outlines an ambitious vision: by 2035, a fully integrated transportation and new energy system will be in place, featuring a clean and low-carbon energy-led consumption model supported by technological innovation. This system will prioritize green, intelligent, and energy-efficient goals. At that juncture, electric energy will emerge as the primary end-use energy in the transportation sector, with locally produced green electricity from transportation infrastructure becoming the norm. Furthermore, pure electric vehicles are expected to become the predominant choice in new car sales, new energy commercial heavy-duty trucks will see widespread adoption, and a comprehensive green fuel supply system for transportation will be firmly established.
