Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued a mandatory national standard titled "Safety Requirements for Traction Batteries Used in Electric Vehicles," which will come into effect in July 2026. Dubbed as the "strictest battery safety order in history," this new standard mandates that traction batteries must not ignite or explode following thermal runaway incidents. Furthermore, it incorporates alarm signals to provide passengers with critical escape time. Encompassing a wide array of tests, the new standard represents a comprehensive upgrade in technical standards, aiming to forge a robust safety net for traction batteries.
