This morning, Beijing's landmark project—the reconstructed East Sixth Ring Road, spanning approximately 16.3 kilometers in total length—officially commenced operations. This five-year endeavor serves as the "backbone" of Beijing's sub-center. The East Sixth Ring Road, which has been in service for 16 years, has necessitated a rebuild due to the evolving needs of the city's sub-center. Its original layout contributed to spatial fragmentation on both the eastern and western flanks, making the reconstruction project a necessity. The revamped East Sixth Ring Road will serve as a crucial artery linking Shunyi, Daxing, Beijing Capital International Airport, and Daxing International Airport. It holds significant importance in enhancing Beijing's transportation services and fostering integrated transportation development within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
