On March 29, Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, disclosed at the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum (2025) that as of March 28, more than 1.769 million applications for car "trade-in" subsidies have been submitted for the year 2025. Nationwide, the cumulative retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles have surpassed 2.05 million units since the start of the year, marking a 34% increase compared to the same period last year.
