BYD Fangchengbao Bao 8 Drone Edition will introduce the 'Lingyuan' intelligent vehicle-mounted drone system, aiming to enable static take-off and landing, as well as follow-up shooting capabilities in the second quarter of this year. Due to recent regulatory changes, the third OTA update for Bao 8's intelligent driving system is anticipated to conclude by the end of June 2025, introducing new features such as valet parking and lot-to-lot navigation. The optional drone system package is priced at 16,968 yuan, inclusive of one year of DJI insurance, and offers dynamic take-off and landing, one-click return to the vehicle, and seamless integration between the vehicle and drone. The Bao 8 Drone Edition is priced between 395,800 and 423,800 yuan, making BYD the first automaker globally to mass-produce vehicles equipped with drones.
