On March 27, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Corporation unveiled its intention to deploy 20 UBTECH (09880.HK) industrial humanoid robots, the Walker S1 model, across its automobile manufacturing facility in the first half of this year. These robots will permeate the entire manufacturing process, with the objective of elevating the factory's intelligence, automation, and production efficiency. Notably, this marks the world's first mass deployment of humanoid robots in an automotive factory. The Walker S series robots have already concluded the initial phase of on-site training, achieving pivotal advancements in embodied intelligence technologies. Significant improvements have been made in core areas such as joint stability, overall structural dependability, battery longevity, software system robustness, positioning and navigation, and motion control. This initiative effectively overcomes the technical hurdles related to algorithm and software system stability for humanoid robots in industrial settings.
