Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Daimler AG, underscored at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the China Development Forum the profound impact of China's open market policy on the global market landscape. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz's production and research and development in China, he announced a commitment to deepening cooperation and investment in the country. Källenius considers China the "second home" of Mercedes-Benz and intends to boost R&D investments to introduce more models tailored to Chinese consumer preferences. He highlighted that China, with its rapid pace of innovation and evolving customer needs, serves as a bellwether; products that succeed in China are poised to compete effectively in other markets as well. In 2024, Mercedes-Benz sold 1.983 million vehicles worldwide, with 714,000 units sold in China, accounting for over 30% of its total sales.
