The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has recently launched an initiative, urging automakers to cease publishing weekly sales rankings. The association highlighted that some manufacturers frequently release such rankings, which not only fail to accurately reflect market trends but also possess unclear data sources. This practice has led to the misinterpretation of public opinion, disrupted industry order, and intensified malicious competition. Consequently, CAAM advocates for enterprises to disclose business data in accordance with the operational norms of the automotive industry, for instance, through monthly, quarterly, and annual data cycles. This approach aims to collectively uphold a fair competitive environment and foster the healthy development of the industry. This move serves as a cautionary signal to automakers that frequently issue weekly sales rankings, encouraging the industry to prioritize high-quality development.
