According to the most recent statistics released by the China Passenger Car Association, the automotive sector is poised to witness a surge in policy subsidies and incentives in 2025, positioning itself as a pivotal driver for the overall growth of the automotive market and accelerating the adoption of new energy vehicles. The scope of the scrappage policy has been broadened, with projections indicating that 5 million vehicles will be phased out and replaced this year, attracting subsidies totaling approximately 90 billion yuan. Concurrently, regional replacement policies remain stable and effective, anticipating the replacement of 10 million vehicles, involving subsidies of nearly 130 billion yuan. Moreover, the new energy vehicle market is demonstrating robust performance, with production and sales anticipated to reach 16 million units this year, generating sales exceeding 2 trillion yuan. Notably, 2025 marks the final year of the vehicle purchase tax exemption policy, which is expected to unleash tax exemptions amounting to roughly 200 billion yuan given the current size of the new car sales market.
