Audi's Brussels plant, which once spearheaded the German automaker's electric vehicle (EV) transformation, has officially ceased production and will be shut down. This decision will result in the loss of approximately 3,000 jobs, exacerbating the challenges faced by the European automotive industry. The Brussels facility, the largest private employer in the Belgian capital with a storied 70-year history, has been in the process of transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicle production to EV production since 2018.
