Audi's Brussels plant is set to close due to a decline in global demand for premium electric SUVs and structural challenges, leading to the loss of 3,000 jobs. Since 2018, the plant had shifted its focus to producing electric vehicles, but sales of the Q8 e-tron model have significantly dropped. The sluggish European market reception of electric vehicles, coupled with high purchase prices, has contributed to the decline in sales. Furthermore, Audi's global electric vehicle deliveries decreased by 8% last year, with an 11% drop specifically in the Chinese market. To support the affected workers, Audi will offer employment assistance and organize job fairs.
