Tesla China has recently embarked on a new chapter with the phased rollout of software version 2024.45.32.12, signifying the official arrival of its urban Autopilot feature, or FSD (Full Self-Driving), in China. However, real-world evaluations from Tesla owners have unveiled notable differences between the domestic and US iterations of FSD. Essentially, the Chinese variant functions more akin to an advanced pilot-assisted driving system, tailored for structured roads and less adept in complex scenarios. Conversely, the US version boasts features like one-click autonomous driving and automatic parking spot detection, with a lower frequency of manual intervention required. Moreover, the Chinese FSD is exclusive to the HW4.0 automotive chip, priced at 64,000 Chinese yuan, while the US counterpart supports HW2.5 and newer versions, priced approximately at 58,000 Chinese yuan. It's noteworthy that a 'full-featured' version of FSD is currently undergoing rigorous testing and optimization in China, with an anticipated release in March or April.
