On February 26, Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government, revealed that the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in Hong Kong has surpassed 100,000, marking an eightfold increase since five years ago. To accommodate this surge, the government plans to introduce a HK$300 million subsidy program in the middle of the year. The objective is to incentivize the industry to install 3,000 high-speed charging stations by 2030, capable of serving an additional 160,000 EVs.
