Tesla has reached an agreement to acquire select assets from the financially distressed German automation systems provider Manz AG. This acquisition includes Manz's facility in Reutlingen, more than 300 employees, and tangible personal property. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. However, it is anticipated that approximately 100 Manz employees will be affected by job losses as a result of this transaction. Manz filed for bankruptcy in December of last year, citing a decline in sales and ongoing losses stemming from a downturn in the market. Through this acquisition, Tesla aims to bolster its automated production capabilities in the German market, addressing the challenge of waning sales in the European market.
