BMW aims to unveil its 800V electric vehicles by the end of this year, heralding enhanced efficiency and a remarkable 30% increase in charging speed. However, this accelerated performance hinges on users' ability to locate compatible chargers. BMW, along with competitors like Lucid, Hyundai, and Audi, confronts a significant hurdle: the scarcity of ultra-fast chargers (capable of delivering over 100kW) that support 800V systems. Consequently, most drivers will continue to rely on the more prevalent 400V chargers, which cater to the majority of vehicles equipped with lower voltage battery architectures.
