Autokiniton US Holdings, an auto parts supplier, has put on hold the amendment and extension of roughly $1.05 billion in leveraged loans, according to people familiar with the matter. The company had already fine-tuned the transaction terms: the proposed loan maturity was shortened by one year to 2030, the bond discount was adjusted to 97.5 cents on the dollar, and the interest rate was set at 4.75 percentage points above the benchmark rate—at the upper end of the initially negotiated range. Amid market volatility, investors are demanding more concessions from highly indebted companies seeking financing or debt refinancing, and only four leveraged loan issuances were completed in the U.S. this week. Traders are assessing the impact of a sweeping Democratic victory in the midterm elections on debt-financed AI infrastructure expansion projects. A spokesperson for KPS Capital declined to comment, while Citigroup, which is leading the transaction, and Autokiniton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
