Chery Automobile recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation (No. S2026M0146V), recalling certain Tiggo 5x and Omoda series vehicles manufactured between June 6, 2022 and December 31, 2023—53,882 units in total—effective November 27, 2026. The recall stems from a potential manufacturing defect: on some vehicles, the welding between the rear axle trailing arm and the sleeve may be inadequate. In extreme cases, the weld seam could fail and separate, causing a loss of wheel control, increasing the risk of accidents, and posing a safety hazard.
