On November 6, Ge Ju, Deputy Director of the Development and Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, announced that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will tap into the power load regulation potential of electric vehicles, air conditioners, and other sources, promote smart and orderly charging, expand the large-scale application of vehicle-to-grid interaction, and advance the large-scale development of virtual power plants. The goal is to achieve a virtual power plant regulation capacity of over 50 million kilowatts by 2030, enabling users to participate more actively in power system regulation and interaction. On the energy storage front, full play will be given to its role as a "power bank" and "stabilizer." Pumped-storage hydropower stations will be planned and constructed, with installed capacity expected to reach approximately 160 million kilowatts by 2030. Meanwhile, new-type energy storage will be vigorously developed, with multiple technological pathways encouraged, aiming for an installed capacity of 300 million kilowatts by 2030.
