Data released Wednesday by the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association showed that South Korea's imported car sales in October rose 29.3% year-on-year to 31,117 units, up from 24,064 units in the same period last year, with growth mainly driven by strong demand for electric vehicles. The top three models by sales were the Tesla Model Y (premium version), the Mercedes-Benz E200, and the Tesla Model 3. The two Tesla models are manufactured at a Chinese factory and supplied to the South Korean market, enabling the company to price and sell them more competitively.
