On the cusp of the Paris Motor Show, Oliver Blume, the CEO of Volkswagen Group, articulated at the 'For Europe' event that, in light of the intense competition posed by Chinese car manufacturers, France and Germany must work hand in hand on industrial policies. He emphasized that European policymakers ought to pave the way for the restructuring of the automotive sector. Blume described Volkswagen's ongoing transformation as 'the most significant change initiative in the group's history.' He expressed support for the EU's 'Made in Europe' regulations and welcomed the China-EU pact aimed at curbing the exports of plug-in hybrid models. This year's motor show boasts a record-breaking participation of 22 Chinese brands, making up 37.3% of the total exhibitors.
