At the Land Rover Defender Owners' Convention, Bruce HAN, the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover China, weighed in on the issue of competitors' imitation. He remarked that being imitated is indicative of brand recognition and a leading stance within the industry. While it's possible to replicate outward appearances, the essence—a product of 78 years of accumulated history and adventurous spirit—cannot be hastily reproduced. In the face of the Chinese market's inclination towards "competing on screens and technology," Bruce HAN emphasized that the brand will remain steadfast in its positioning, continuing to hone in on its core strengths. Presently, Jaguar Land Rover China is concentrating on three premium models: the Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport, and the Defender. In the first half of the year, these three models contributed to 92% of the business, with the average transaction price for imported vehicles surpassing RMB 1 million. The recent dip in retail sales is mainly attributable to the halt in production of domestically produced models by the Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture in June 2026. Since stepping into the role of CEO for China in early 2026, Bruce HAN has crafted a five-year development blueprint for the brand. This roadmap will be rolled out in phases to reinforce the brand's positioning, foster organic growth, and achieve breakthroughs in segmented markets.
