A brake test video released by Dongchedi has triggered a significant controversy after it led to the fracture of the brake pedal bracket on the Zunjie V800 model. The crux of the disagreement between the involved parties centers on whether the test conditions accurately simulated extreme driving scenarios. Debates have arisen concerning the emergency braking force typically applied by average drivers, the established standards for brake pedals, and the safety design margins incorporated in vehicle manufacturing.

Research findings suggest that, under emergency circumstances, the average driver is capable of exerting a braking force surpassing 1600N. In light of this, national regulations, industry norms, and standards set by automobile manufacturers uniformly mandate that brake pedals be engineered with ample safety redundancy to accommodate such forces.

In response to the incident, Zunjie has committed to refining the design of the affected component and offering complimentary upgrades to existing users. Meanwhile, shares of JAC Motors, the parent company, experienced a two-day consecutive decline, hitting the daily limit. The outcomes of subsequent on-site investigations and practical tests are still pending release, leaving the automotive community and investors awaiting further developments.
