BMW has proudly introduced its latest all-electric coupe SUV, the iX4. Constructed on the same advanced platform as the iX3, the iX4 mirrors its sibling in body dimensions and powertrain technology. Distinguished by its sleek coupe-style silhouette, the iX4 comes equipped with the M Sport package as standard across all trim levels. The inaugural model, the iX4 50 xDrive, is poised for a U.S. debut in March 2027, promising an impressive driving range of up to 428 miles on a single charge. It features a robust 112.2 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a peak power output of 463 horsepower. The vehicle supports rapid DC fast-charging at a maximum power of 400 kW and includes a standard 15.4 kW onboard charger for added convenience. For those seeking even more performance, the iX4 M60 xDrive variant ramps up the power to a staggering 603 horsepower, capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph in a mere 3.7 seconds. This high-performance model also comes standard with adaptive M suspension and other premium features, although its driving range remains to be announced.
For the European market, BMW will also offer the iX4 40 xDrive, which features an 82.6 kWh battery pack, a maximum power output of 368 horsepower, a WLTP-certified range of 396 miles, and supports DC fast-charging at up to 300 kW. Compared to the iX3, the iX4's body is slightly lower, with a height reduction of 1.5 inches. The European version boasts a regular trunk capacity of 490 liters, expandable to a spacious 1,600 liters when needed. Inside, the iX4 is adorned with a cutting-edge 17.9-inch central control screen, a panoramic narrow display, a state-of-the-art 3D head-up display system, and a voice assistant powered by Amazon Alexa+ AI technology. Moreover, the iX4 supports vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home power supply functions, with relevant adapters available for purchase separately. This innovative SUV will be manufactured alongside the iX3 at BMW's state-of-the-art Debrecen plant in Hungary.
